“Thank
you for the opportunity to examine your handcuffs. In addition to the FBI
agents assigned to our office, officers of the Wichita Police
Department’s street gang unit and the Sedgewich county Jail’s training
unit evaluated the handcuffs. The following observations were made: A
visual indicator that the cuffs are double locked would be desirable, no
attempts at picking or shimming the cuffs were successful, and
everyone was impressed by the construction of the cuffs and the keyholes
on both sides….”
SA
Leslie Earl, FBI
We
have had your “Gotchas” for two months and…they have received rave
reviews…The lock on both sides, the key size and the pick-proof double
lock were the things that received the most favorable comments. It should
be noted, there were no unfavorable comments. You have built the “Better
Mo
us
e Trap”…
Director
Dave Gorman, Tri-Parish Task Force
I have
had a number of our Deputies using Gotchas on their Sheriff's Job as well
as their part-time Police Officer's positions. The reactions to
the appearance and the working of these cuffs have been very positive. The
ability to use them in all transport situations has been well received by
our personnel. They are obviously much more secure than the present cuffs
on the market. This is something we have all been looking for when we are
talking about any high risk prisoner and their transport. You have an
excellent product that fills a need we all recognize.
Capt
Joseph Carbo, Chester County Sheriff’s Office
Since
I started using your handcuffs, I have had many comments from both
coworkers and other law enforcement officers. Many comment on the
lighter weight but stronger material. They mostly like to smoothness
of the action of your handcuffs. They close smooth and fast.
This allows for faster cuffing of the arrestee which gives them less
time to contemplate a struggle.
The
size makes it easy to accommodate most of the larger wristed inmates.
Their size and appearance even has some of the inmates telling me how
intimidating your handcuffs are. The name "GOTCHA" on your
handcuffs even has gotten their attention. One inmate as he was
being escorted out of the jail, could not stop talking about being
handcuffed and noticing the word GOTCHA on your cuffs. He had not
even made it out of jail and already the "police" got him again.
Once these cuffs are applied, GOTCHA is very appropriate!
The
larger rivets and the easy access from either side make your handcuffs
much easier to use with less worry of an inmate prying them apart.
Keep
up the great work and let it be known that your handcuffs are a big leap
ahead of the normal handcuffs used today.
Deputy
Sheriff Frederick ‘Ludwikowski, Montgomery County Sheriffs Department
The
handcuffs were recently taken to a high risk prisoner transportation
training session conducted by the National Tactical Officers Association
hosted by the Monroe County Emergency Agency. There were various
agencies who were very interested in them.
Chief
Deputy Joe Hager, Carbon County Sheriff’s Office
I
have over 22 years of law enforcement training & experience, and have
used and worked with all of the various police restraints currently being
sold in this industry from American Handcuff Company, Hyatt, Peerless,
Smith & Wesson, and the Rapid Cuff, and have found the GOTCHA
handcuffs to be far superior.
The
GOTCHA handcuffs are ergonomically designed to fit the natural oval shape
of the wrist, having the key hole on both sides offers the officer
increased ease and safety when removing the cuffs. The double lock
feature is fail-safe, meaning easier to locate and operate.
Because of their superiority, we are now using GOTCHA handcuffs in
our training and certification programs.
These
features aside, I use them because they are safer. I know that when I put
them on, the subject is not going to escape. But please don't take it from
me or anyone else, I suggest officers get a pair and try them out for
themselves.

“It's about time someone
took an interest in officer safety and designed a handcuff that is more
reliable and
us
er friendly. I have seen the Gotcha handcuffs develop from the
beginning stages to its present form. I am convinced that this
company sincerely seeks to provide a product that protects officers from
unsafe environments".
"Transporting
s
us
pects is one of the most dangero
us
functions officers perform. We can't watch the s
us
pect 100 percent of the time. We m
us
t have a handcuff that will keep the s
us
pect secure. I believe we have found that in Gotcha".
Chief
Gerald Galloway, Southern Pines Police Department.
“In our estimation this
piece of equipment (Gotcha handcuffs) is very impressive in design and
application…”
Wade Carriere, Security
& Operations Analyst, Manitoba Justice Corrections Division
“The Gotcha handcuffs worked
great. My other instructors and I used them in class as well as on the
street and they performed flawlessly and I do think you have an innovation
with this product…Again I feel you have a great product.”
Sgt James S. Ulmer,
Maryland Special Police
“We just completed training
for 16 new recruits in defensive tactics. Your Gotcha handcuffs worked
great. In fact, better than we had expected”
Officer Steve Laudick,
Defensive Tactics Instructor, McHenry County Sheriff’s Office
“…I had to run into the
field in water waist deep and mud which went up to my knees. Yes, I fell
once or twice and this got the Gotcha Cuffs muddy. Once we caught the
suspect, I placed the Gotcha cuffs on him and they went on easy, even them
being wet and muddy. I placed the suspect into my unit. Once at the jail
the cuffs had dried up with the mud on them and they still worked with
ease.
